Obsessed (... borderline):
I love to cook, and I love to eat. I'm definitely an Eater, maybe even a Foodie. I'm always thinking about the next meal. I'm a big fan of PBS Cooking shows such as "Lidia's Italy", "Jacques Pépin: Fast Food My Way", Gourmet's "Diary of a Foodie", and "Spain on the Road Again", just to name a few.
Achilles' Heel:
I have a weakness for global or ethnic cuisine. I like to collect and experiment with spices. I'm a reformed collectionneuse of kitchen gadgets and cookwares that I've seen on tv or find at specialty stores.
Kitchen (K)omrades:
My top 3 kitchen bffs are: 1. a black marble mortar & pestle set, 2. a kiwi color kyocera mandolin slicer, 3. an oversized chive-green dutch oven that I can braise meat the size of a basketball.
Food-losophy:
I learned to cook from watching my mom, aunts and PBS. I like cooking with fresh, seasonal produce and am a loyalist to my local farm stand; I thoroughly enjoy farm-to-table cooking. Oh, a glass of vino is always a good source of inspiration and for improvisation.
Influences:
I grew up watching Julia Child and "Frugal Gourmet" on PBS. I also learned to speak English from watching "Sesame Street". (Hmm, I guess the latter is more food related in name.)
ALL things Food & Cooking related.
